Clan MacKinnon Society invites you to a Clan Gathering in Edinburgh, Scotland from June 18 to 21, 2024.
Itinerary
- Tuesday, June 18: Arrival day! Check in for the gathering prior to an evening cocktail hour (cash bar) at the host hotel. Meet fellow MacKinnons and rekindle old friendships!
- Wednesday, June 19: Enjoy workshops by esteemed presenters including Lord Lyon King of Arms Dr. Joseph J. Morrow who will present on heraldry, a representative from Drambuie who will describe Clan MacKinnon’s connection with this delicious elixir, and folklorist Eileen Budd who will share her fascinating Travelling Folk Museum. A walking tour of the Royal Mile (included in your registration) will occur in the early afternoon. The ScotlandShop is then hosting a closed-store event just for us; we’ll head there to peruse their retail items and custom-made tartan products. Don’t plan on going to bed early - a pub crawl is in the works!
- Thursday, June 20: Open morning and afternoon. Your gathering registration will include a ticket for a hop-on/hop-off sightseeing bus tour of Edinburgh to take advantage of anytime on Thursday. We will gather together in the evening for a cocktail hour and culminating semi-formal banquet that will include piping in the haggis and “Address to a Haggis,” silent and live auctions, delicious food, and a live band. Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes!
- Friday, June 21: Departure and farewells.

While Clan MacKinnon Society is not arranging or booking bus tours, we anticipate many will take extra time before or after the gathering to travel outside of Edinburgh. Skye, Mull, and Iona have ties to MacKinnon history and are beautiful places to visit. We hope you make your Clan MacKinnon: Scotland 2024 trip an unforgettable adventure!
